2 years!

We celebrated J's "gotcha day" on Tuesday. He was getting ready for school and I was writing something and said something about the date and that today was a special day. He asked why and I told him to think about it. He guessed a few other things first and then said, "Today is when I came here?!?" Yup.

We went out to eat at one of J's favorite restaurants. It's funny. Being as this is America and J is Haitian, his two fav restaurants are Mexican and Japanese. How funny is that? Several people celebrated with us. We celebrated everything J has done since being home.

He's doing well in school, all things considered. He's gaining about 2 years of maturity for every year he's been here. He's growing like crazy. He still loves tv, baseball and basketball. And any kind of food. That child loves to eat!!

He's hosting his first "boy/girl" party on Sunday. He asked for a pinata. Sigh...he wants to do things that he thinks teenagers do because he saw it on tv but the maturity level is about a 10yo. He is gaining though.

We are thankful for J, for our chocolate boy, who constantly cracks us up with his humor and his (lack of) command of the English language. We love you, J!
