Still here, still crazy busy

I somehow got the mountain of laundry done. I worked on Monday and the kids were still off school so J spent some time at home with A. Tuesday, Tuesday, what did we do? I don't even know for sure. I did spend some time working at the church getting ready for our Harvest Party. Today J went on a field trip to a pumpkin patch, had his first basketball practice, and then attended the church harvest party. Wow, what a day. I work again tomorrow and T's aunt and uncle are planning to stop by on their way to FL. They've been struggling with health issues and other things and can't wait to get back home, but they are planning on stopping here to see us and meet J. Busy, busy, busy.

We're baaaack

We had a great time at the beach. We are back in buried in stinky laundry. I'll post pics when I can-of the beach, not the stinky laundry.

Not so good...

Hey, J has had a couple of not so good days at school. Please pray for him as he adjusts and deals with separation anxiety and tries to grasp all the new concepts he has thrown at him every day. Pray for wisdom for T and I too. Thanks!

Another first

Well, only 6 weeks home and he tried out for a play at the local arts center. I took J to watch his sister, A, audition for a play. They asked him if he wanted to and he didn't have a clue what to expect so we just watched for a while. When he saw some little bitty kids reading for a part, he decided that he could handle that so he signed up. Or rather, I filled out the paper for him. I had to "feed him" the words but he was handling pretty long lines at one time. I doubt he'll get a part but it was a good experience for him to try out and I'm glad that they humored us. I'll keep you posted.

Still busy

Hey, we're still very busy. J's school had a harvest party yesterday and today we had a customer appreciation day where R and I work. The whole family was involved in it and J was a good helper. He even got a tip from a lady.

R's first book came yesterday. She is officially a published author! How exciting is that? Once we get some more books in I'll post some ordering info. She is happy with all but one scene/chapter that she wishes she would have changed.

It turned cold last night. It was warm yesterday and got cold through the night. It's been raining a lot. We should have a pretty fall but we may be on vacation when it's really pretty here. Oh well.

I guess that's it for now.

We're doing fine...

...we're just busy as usual. T is busy at work and at church and building the Container Formerly Known as Sacajemama port. Maybe he'll have it done in time for us to go camping.

I am busy at work, at home and at church. We've "backed up" a few years in the parenting department as J is 4 years younger chronologically and more like 8-9 years younger emotionally than our youngest daughter. Sigh...makes things very different than they were.

R is busy at school, at work and wedding planning. Zoiks! Her book is just about done too. How exciting is that?!?

A is busy at school and she just got a part in some dance thing. She is also helping out with R's wedding plans.

J is just busy. He went on his first field trip yesterday. I went with him and I enjoyed it but it was a little over his head and therefore and little boring for him. But he got to dodge some sprinklers and be up close to a train and play someone's Ipod game on the bus ride. Those were all good things in his book.

Busy, busy, busy.

Pics

We had a nice day yesterday meeting another family who adopted from Haiti, not from the same O, their son actually came from the Cap Haitian area. The boys were kind of quiet with each other but the parents talked a lot.

J had a great birthday week and bought an RC car with some gift cards and birthday money. He's having fun with it. I think his daddy likes it a lot too.

J is not liking the cold. Yet he won't dress warmer. He is willing to wear long sleeves but doesn't want to wear hoodies and fleece shirts. I have no idea why he doesn't want to wear them. I guess if he gets cold enough he will.

He had some more firsts yesterday. He got to use his gift card to pay for the RC car, he went to his aunt and uncles house for the first time and loved it there, and his uncle gave him a ride in a 4-wheel drive rock crawler. He couldn't get his started so he used my nephew's. While he was trying to start his, it backfired and scared the bejeebers out of J. Once we explained what it was he just clamped his hands over his ears and laughed like crazy. Once they went out for their ride J had a blast. I wondered if it would scare him but no way. He wants to go back again today. I tried to explain that uncle C wouldn't be there but he still wanted to go.

I finally got a few minutes to upload some pics. Just in case you were wondering, Sanomae still loves to cuddle in the warm laundry.
Misty still thinks she fits in boxes/baskets that are really much too small for her.
What?? I fit just fine.
Here are a few birthday pics. I don't know why the pics with the cake didn't come out but here is one with the balloon that made him so happy.

Opening some gifts and cards.

He made a house for Misty out of the box his car came in. He dressed himself-can you tell?
He stuck a few treats in there to entice her in. She went in to check it and get her treats but she's not very impressed with it. Why it's in our bedroom is beyond me.

I have a mountain of laundry awaiting me. Even though we had two dry nights in a row, most nights J's plumbing still leaks which makes for a lot of laundry. Sigh...

So far...

Afternoon edit; Okay, things went from bad, to much better, to really good, and then kind of bad again but have regulated to okay again. Sigh...we are obviously still on a roller coaster. But make no doubt, we are very happy to be on this roller coaster finally and not still on the "will he ever come home?" coaster. Yes, very happy indeed.

Hmmm. Last night's post said we'd been having good, bad, good, bad with J and hoping that today would be all good. So far...all bad. Prayers appreciated.
