It's been nearly a month since I posted last! Oops, I had no idea until I checked the date on the last post. Oh my goodness, what a roller coaster we've been on!
R has been in the hospital for over a week now, with Thing 1 and Thing 2 trying to come out much too early. They stopped her labor 3 times and she has had contractions off and on the whole time since then. They monitor her and the babies multiple times a day. If she can make it to 32 weeks they might let her go home.
Her friends had a baby shower for her today. She wheeled down to a special occasion room where her friends had decorated. It wore her out but she had a great time wearing real clothes and just doing something "normal". She also got to go to a chat session on Tues with the other "ladies in waiting" who are at the hospital trying not to have their babies too. R was one of two having twins and one of three military wives and one of three in the same week of gestation. It's always nice to know you're not alone in a situation and can help each other cope. She is at 30 weeks and 2 days. Prayers are appreciated.
JT has been able to spend a lot of time with R and for that we are grateful. He's done a great job taking care of his wife and babies. He even brushed and braided R's hair one day. How sweet is that?
J is brushing my hair as I type this. He's still loving high school and especially basketball. They are having homecoming week this week and he's thrilled. I remember R's first homecoming week and how excited she was about it. J told me everything they were going to do and how short his classes were going to be and I just smiled and said, "You're my third child to have homecoming week. I know how it goes. But I'm glad you're so excited about it." J had a birthday since I posted last. He's 16! He continues to do well in school and at home. He's a bottomless pit and will eat just about anything. He's a bit lazy and has an attitude prob now and then, but he's a 16yo boy! We love him dearly.
We (the 4 of us) sat around last night and played games and sang Veggie Tales songs. What a hoot! We are all looking forward to fall break and the beach. Bring it on!
A got an 85 on her stats test the other day and was thrilled with it. Woot! She likes her classes this semester for the most part. She also likes her job and continues to do well there. A and P are going to join us for part of our time at the beach, Lord willing and the creek don't rise. We are all looking forward to it. I hope it works out and doesn't disappoint.
My dad got approved by the doctors for the cochlear implant. Now he just has to get approved by the ins. We are hopeful that this would open up his world again.
I'm officially a junior in college now. I'm only 2 months behind where I wanted to be. I've done well after surgery and am pleased with it all so far. I was even going to play keys and lead music in church tomorrow but a major water leak at the church this evening has cancelled services. I did play the ukulele a bit this morning so that's good. I'm doing therapy twice a week for my wrist and it's going well. Fibro is ok too but I've had sleep issues and hip pain a lot the last couple months.
I'm trying to go through things and get ready for a yard sale. I cleaned out the game cabinet today. Well, I got all the games out. Trying to decide what to keep is hard. I came across my 20 Questions thingy. Have you ever played with one? It's creepy good at guessing what you're thinking of.
The "Ladies in Wheeling" episode of 4x4 Nation is coming out this week. Check it out if you can at www.4x4nation.com .
So, I think I will end this with a thankful list. I'm thankful that Thing 1 and 2 are still tucked safely inside their mommy. I'm thankful for medical care. I'm thankful for God, family and friends. I'm thankful for a chance to take a vacation. I'm thankful for the chance to "go to college" online.

After surgery....
Things are going pretty well. Much better than last time. Of course theeres some pain but not as bad and I've had no nausea or vomiting which is really good. I used my little "leg squeezers" to prevent blood clots the first couple days. the tubes and lights were a pain but better than blood clots.
I'm in the soft cast thing until the 17th.
Whew! Sleepy kitty, drugged owner.
I took a shower by myself this morning and used press and seal to keep the wrap dry. Got dressed by myself so feeling pretty good about things.
Please keep R in your prayers. She's on bedrest and having some early labor complications. She's at 26 weeks. JT is trying to get permission to not go in the field so he can be with her. Prayers appreciated.

Much ado about nothing
Wow, I can't believe it's been over two weeks since I posted. Life is crazy like that. So, what's been happening around here? Let's see...
T is getting ready for summer tech projects in the school system. He's also working on getting our boat to run. It's a slow process that he hasn't spent too much time on yet thankfully. We did get a nice ride in my dad's boat, after he started his barn on fire. It involved gasoline and a pump of some sort. He (my dad) said, "I found out something. I might be old but I can still move pretty fast when my foot is on fire!"
T and I are planning on heading to Atlanta this weekend. Sort of an anniversary trip since we didn't reallly do anything last month. 26 years is something to celebrate, yes?
My parents have discovered Duck Dynasty due to our discovering it on DVD. Dad keeps trying to go all Phil Robertson on us. But my mom won't eat squirrel brains yet. We are planning a DD party later this summer. The first great-grand for my parents should be here by then. He already has an outfit-a black onesie with a camo gator on it and a T-tiny camo hoodie. This is my nephew's and his wife's baby, due in July.
Speaking of babies, R and JT are doing well. They are settled in with the fact that they are having twins and R goes back to the doc today or tomorrow. She is at 12 weeks today. Keep praying for her.
A is working and enjoying life. She is happy to be out of school for the summer and spending time with friends and family.
J made the high school basketball team so we are at practices a lot. He's really excited about this.
I'm working and continuing schoolwork. I really like that I can work on it as I need/want to. The online thing is working well for me.
I guess that catches us up for now!

Trying to find the positive
I've read enough about 5th metarsal stress fractures to know it's not good and I'm trying to work through the frustration of that and another medical issue which has reared its ugly head again too. I have a couple friends who are dealing with as yet unknown health issues and T's uncle is really having a hard time. He lives in FL and all the hospitals are full! Prayers appreciated for all of us.
On the positive side, A got a promotion at work. She is very happy about it and we are proud of her.
We had a good time at nephew's "gender reveal party" last night. They are expecting a boy! They had the ultrasound yesterday and had the "results" put in a sealed envelope and gave it to her brother for safe keeping. They mixed up several baggies of white powder and we all took one and on the count of three poured them into our glass of water. All but one of them turned into lemonade. Her brother was given one that turned pink and one that turned blue and instructed to put the correct one in with the rest of the baggies. So all of our powder turned to lemonade in our water except one turned blue. Nephew and his wife found out the gender of their baby at the same time that the rest of us did. How fun was that? Congrats P and M!!

Waiting to heal
I went to the podiatrist again yesterday. He was perplexed. He said, "It's like your center of pain changed somewhat." He got new xrays to compare to last month's and discovered that the stress fracture of the cuboid is healing but there's another stress fracture of the 5th metatarsal. Those are notoriously long to heal. Ahhhh!!! I'm a bit down today as this is sinking in. I'm to be as non-weight bearing as possible and wear the boot to bed. If I'm showering or not in the boot I'm to be non-weight bearing at all. Sigh....I'm trying to avoid a cast and crutches. Waiting to heal.
On the upside, it's cadbury caramel egg season!! And jolly rancher jelly beans! The only kind of jelly bean I will put in my mouth. And then, only certain colors. The thought of eating any old regular jelly bean grosses me out and I don't even like the jelly belly ones. But jolly rancher ones are really good.
J is getting "almost a B" in math. Pretty much by himself. He had a little help with a couple things. And A got "almost a B" in her accounting class test. I wish these "almost a B's" were on the A side but they're not. But, C is average and as long as J is passing I figure he's doing pretty good and A was really nervous about this accounting test.
R and I have straight As. We're weird like that. It's like our brains are wired the same. I'm still trying to get T to do some schooling.
JT had a birthday this week but spent it in the clinic. His knee is swollen and sore. He's also waiting to heal. Neither one of us has time for this. Please pray for healing for us.
I stepped on Diesel's foot this morning. He hollered and limped away and laid down on the rug. I felt so bad. I couldn't feel a thing through this big old boot. I thought I broke his little foot with my broken foot. He's ok though. Poor little guy.
Today is cold and gloomy and my dad calls from FL saying it's 80s and sunny there. Thanks a lot, dad! But we will be heading down there for spring break. Or that's the change, subject to plan. Hurry up spring break!

Weather....or not. Ha!
Apparently we had some bad weather last night, or early this morning to be more exact. We slept through it. My brother and his family didn't. They have some shingle and chimney and water damage but are getting things taken care of. It's supposed to possibly snow tonight and/or in the next 24-48 hours too. Weird weather.
My dad called me at work earlier and said Cooper was muddy. Ya think?! Besides the fact that our driveway resembles the Grand Canyon and we had flood like conditions, Cooper knocked over another planter. And then he and Trixie played in the dirt. While they were wet. Which made them muddy. Cooper is worse than Trixie plus it shows up more on him. His mother is a mountain cur and he usually looks like a yellow lab but today he looks more like a chocolate lab. Gotta love puppies. Their exuberance for life can be overwhelming though.
Dad picked J up at the end of the driveway after school in his new and improved scout. Woot!
Please pray for JT. He's not feeling well. Hope they can find some answers and get him some help tomorrow.
I went back to the foot doc and it's been decided that I'm dealing with a stress fracture and tendonitis. He took one look at my old boot and told me to get a new one. It should arrive tomorrow. At least 3 more weeks in the boot. Makes exercising difficult. Heck, it makes walking difficult.
How about I close with a "lost in translation". J was telling me how much dish soap he used to wash a water bottle. He said, "Just a tad, mom." I thought that was awesome that he used the word "tad" correctly and was excited about that. Not two minutes later he was walking forwards and backwards and saying, "I go closer. I go backer. I go closer. I go backer." Sigh....but too funny!

Just busy...
Well I was going to upload some pics but blogger is being stupid again. I may need to rethink this whole blog thing.
Anyway, we've been busy as ever. I was going to do a whole 2012 in review but I never did find time to do that. Sorry. I can't even remember what I had for supper the other day, much less what we did a year ago. I do know that 2012 felt weird. Not bad, just weird.
Onwards and upwards. J is happy to be back in school again. The Christmas break was a bit too long for him and he craves being with his friends. He didn't even mind the homework!
A has not started back to school yet. She is working 2 jobs though.
R and JT will be here next week for a short visit. We are looking forward to seeing them.
I'm still struggling with wrist, foot and back issues. Not bad though. Just would really like some resolve. I started back to school too and am kicking it again. Woot!
I'm trying to convince T to join me in school. He's thinking about it. He's glad to be back to work too. Now maybe we can tell what day it is. He's been helping my dad try to find and fix a water leak. J has been helping them too. It's my job to bring them hot chocolate.
Everyone survived the New Year's Eve party and the tree blowing up. It didn't even really blow, just kind of swooped into flame. Lots of flame. Very quickly. A kept saying, "I'm so glad it rained." Flame travels very quickly and makes and very loud whoosh when it does so. Just sayin'. I have some pics if blogger ever lets me post them.
Oreo is doing ok. Her tumor may have gotten a little bigger in the two week period of trying the antibiotics. So we know it's a tumor and not an abcess. We took her collar off and she's basically happy so that's good. She's such a good dog.
We've had a lot of rain plus dad's water leak so our driveway has been a mess. The sun was out yesterday and it's out again today so that's good. Dad is heading to Haiti today with a group of 12, I think. Keep them in your prayers. They are all excited to be on their way.

He's baaaaaack!!!
JT made it home yesterday after several months in Afghanistan. Thanks for all the prayers for safety and healing for him and for R as she held down the fort at home. So much has changed for them. R is back in school, she moved her horse, Bridget, out by her, she can drive a standard now ;-) , JT is a sergeant and yet their love is the same and God is still God. JT, we are so proud of you!! And of you, R, for keeping it together while your hubby was deployed! Continued prayers, please, as they readjust to life together, that God would heal JT of any emotional scars he carries and that they would prosper together. Thanks! Welcome home!!

Did you find it?
Did you find the change? I know a couple of people did. JT made sergeant! He went from specialist to sergeant in the "who's who?" list. We are so proud of him!! He passed the board a while back but had to wait for his official cermony to where his stripes, or his "3 mosquito wings". Now, we just have to get him home safe and sound. Keep praying!

October already?!
Wow! This year has flown by. I can't believe it's October already. I'm ready for fall but I haven't gotten out a single fall decoration. How awful is that? Oh well. We've been busy. My online classes are "at your own pace" and I've been cranking it out as fast as I can. I'm not wearing myself out but just working as fast as I can.
We celebrated J's birthday this weekend. He went rollerskating with some friends. Two of them were really good skaters and two were beginners. J has only been about 5 times and he does pretty well considering. So he was kind of in the middle.
Please pray that A passes her math class. She struggles with it.
Will be sharing some good news for JT as soon as we can.
Both of our daughters are able to drive a standard transmission now. Mostly without killing their cars. Mostly.
I have a stew in the crockpot. I love crockpot cooking.
This was the sky on my way home from work last night.
This is the apron we made for J. It says "Chef Pazowski's Haitian Cuisine". T made it on paint.net and we printed it on transfer paper and ironed it on. J likes it. He calls himself Chef Pazowski when he's in the kitchen. He also asked for Hollister shirts for his birthday. He scored 4 of them, 3 fedoras, his apron, an itunes card, other clothes and some money. He's a happy 15yo.
Here he is in one of his fedoras with powder sugar from a donut all over his mouth. Got donuts?

Life
We are all busy around here. That's our normal it seems. It's probably most people's normal. Anyway...just a little update. No big news.
A has her car titled and now it won't run or she can't make it run. I will try to drive it later and see if it's her or the car. Why did she buy a standard transmission when she can't drive one? I don't know.
R is still not driving her car with a standard transmission either. We failed our girls. Ha! But at least we made "trekkies" out of our youngest two kids. Priorities you know. R's play opens Friday. I wish we could be there but we're excited for her here.
The dishwasher part hasn't come yet. No surprise. I hope it's here tomorrow or Friday. Misty keeps staring under the dishwasher for reasons that we can't figure out. It's just a little bit creepy that she keeps doing that.
Diesel is still dealing with nasty allergies. The bottom half of his body is covered in bumps. Poor little guy. I get tired of giving him allergy pills and he's tired of taking them but jeepers, the poor guy needs some relief. He sat on my keyboard the other day and turned it on. Then he moved a little and turned it off. If only I could get the kids to turn off the things they turn on.
It's been cloudy and rainy here the last several days. There have been little glimpses of sun now and then but mostly clouds. Despite the clouds we got my nephew and niece-in-law moved into their new house. Congrats P and M! You have a very nice house.
T has been busy working on cars, working, and helping dad with his boat. I've been trying to keep up with laundry, housework, work and schoolwork. Wow. All that work. We need to relax a little. Maybe the lake Sunday? We shall see.
I've been in touch with the people who are adopting a cousin of J's. We hope their boys (they are adopting 3 teenage boys-zoiks!! pray for them!) are home soon and J can be in touch with his bio cousin. We'd like the boys to be able to get together sometime too.
J is still loving his ipod. So far, every new thing he's gotten after he's wanted it so bad for so long he has quickly lost interest in. Except for the ipod. He uses it for everything including school work. Good for him. He seems to be over his "I don't want to weed-eat funk" but he hasn't had to weed-eat again yet since he got over it. And he's still growing like crazy and eats all. the. time.
We thought Oreo was just getting old or that she was having problems with her hip and/or knee joints but I'm beginning to think she had a doggy stroke or something. She's ok, but not at all "normal". She's 11 so it's quite possible.
Bridget is doing ok with settling in to her new normal as a CO horse. She's had a few issues but R says every one who meets Bridget loves her. She is a funny horse.
JT continues to do ok on his deployment. We don't know when he will come home yet. Please keep praying for him, for safety and physical and emotional well-being.
Well, I think I've managed to cover just about everyone. I can't think of anything more to update right now and laundry, bills and school work are calling. Until next time....

Olympics, back to school and other things...
We are having a good time watching the summer olympics. Well, J and I are. T is not interested and A is never here. It's been fun to watch them through J's eyes. He's only been home for just under 3 years so it's his first time really watching them. Everything he watches, he says, "I want to do dat! I want to be in de olympics!" He gives me a play by play if I'm not in the room. This morning he turned it on and said, "Dey are playing beach volleyball in de pool."
My friend K and I developed our own olympic event. Syncronized noodles.
J registers for school on Friday. I'm loving summer and feel like it's much too early to go back but he's ready. He has not liked staying home alone this summer and is looking forward to seeing his friends every day. A is all signed up and ready to be a sophomore in college. I started my schooling yesterday. T is gearing up for back to school too. Inservice starts tomorrow so they are getting all the tech stuff ready for that.
Please take a minute to go to http://www.realhopeforhaiti.org/ and take a look at what this ministry is doing. They update Jn Edward, who captured my heart a while back. And now Sequam and Saint Vique have captured my heart as well. The ministry that they are providing to the people in and around Cazale, Haiti is outstanding.
Speaking of Haiti, my dad is there now. My mom has gotten reports that all things are going well and it's a good team of people. He will fly back to the states on Thur and be home sometime on Friday, Lord willing.

We have had multitudes of daddy long-legs spiders, or grand-daddy long-legs, depending on where you're from. They are a nuisance. Gobs of them. 30-50 of them in a huge, hairy-looking, ugly ball. They hang around the door and fall on you when you walk out. Gives us the heeby-jeeby's.

Phone pic dump
I can't believe it's been so long since I posted. Busy is an understatement.
Please keep R in your prayers as she is way too close to the fires in CO. She has been right next to the evacuation lines a few times now. She has her evac bags packed and has plans for all her "fur kids" and her horse if the call comes to evacuate. Thankfully she has very good landlords who live next door. And please keep JT in your prayers too. He has been on several missions lately and I don't know where exactly he is or what he's doing but please pray that the Lord would heal him and protect him, physically, mentally and spiritually. Thanks so much for your prayers.
Well, we have given up on parts 5 and 6 of our big plan for me to go to school. School's not out of the plan, just parts 5 and 6 of the plan. We looked and looked and looked for a dif vehicle for me but every time we looked at something it just wasn't right, wasn't taken care of, smelled awful or had mechanical issues. We finally just decided to keep the van and put a hitch on it so it could pull the camper. We need to do a few other things as it's pretty heavy for a pop up but we think it will work.
Speaking of the camper, here it is. It's about a 1000 pounds lighter and when it's opened up it's longer than our other one was. It doesn't have a toilet but we got a port-a-potty and are working on making a surround for it. It also has more floor space because of the slide. We took it out last weekend and at one point there were 10 of us in there enjoying the AC and visiting.
I do love good sunset pics! I think this was at the drive in and that's what those posts are doing there.
Bridget, up close and personal.
Who is that handsome guy?!
Diesel had an allergic reaction. We don't know what he's allergic to but he has bumps all over his feet and legs and some on his belly. He loves to be outside.
We went to the lake a few weeks ago and it's so dry here that the water is way down. It used to be up around that grass line. It's about 5-9 feet below normal.
After three summers of trying A finally got up on water skis. Thank you, Jesus! One of my kids can ski!
Diesel was a little strung out on his allergy meds. He couldn't decide if he should take a nap or go outside so he took a nap by the door.
G'ma and G'pa came and visited and brought us these redneck wine glasses. J lifted them up to his ears and said he could hear the ocean in them. Talk about a redneck...
Misty has had a thing for the smell of strawberries for a long time. If A eats them, Misty is all over her. A threw a strawberry stem at her one time and Misty sat on it. Then she rolled on it. Here she is, trying to eat the strawberry carton. She looks pretty bizarre in this pic.
We took our boat and our camper to Nickajack Lake last weekend. My dad brought his boat too and slept in it. My brother, SIL, nephew and his wife met us out there and we all boated up the TN river. I have pics but they are on T's phone. It was very beautiful and we had a great time. We had a picnic lunch on an island that you can only get to by boat, in the TN river, in downtown Chattanooga. How cool is that? This is a pic of the sunset the first night.
And J's campfire. He made it by himself (with Bampa's instructions).
It's been incredibly hot and dry here. I don't know the last time we've had rain and it's been over 100 several days too. We are busy trying to get the garden to grow but have just about given up on it. It's just too dry. J is finally mature enough to learn to drive the lawn mower and the grass is all dried up and crunches when you walk on it. Poor kid. He only got to mow one time so far this year.

We're baaaaack!
Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted since mid-May. We have been so busy with our "6-steps to school" plan. We are struggling with step 5, which is finding another vehicle which is good and we can get for less than our van is worth. Sigh... would you pray for us?
We had an awesome trip to the beach to celebrate my parent's 50th anniversary, which isn't actually until Oct but we celebrated now. It was 53 years ago on Memorial day weekend that they went on their first date. He went because he liked her and she went because her parents said she could. Ha! The rest is history.
Here is our trip in pics. Keep in mind it's a crappy phone so I was really pleased with the pics considering what I took them with! R and her friend C, who's hubby is also in Afghanistan with JT, got to our house from CO on Sat afternoon. We all took off Sunday morning and when we got to the beach house we unloaded the cars and decided to go out to eat. We were back in a gated community and on the way out, there was this awesome double rainbow. So pretty!
On the way to the beach J said, "I know we are close when we see de big red chair." We couldn't remember what he was talking about 'til we went by it. The next day R, C, T and I headed over to the cider place we love to visit. On the way back we stopped and bought strawberries and took the girls' pic in the big red chair.
They're so cute!
The beach house. There were 25 steps up to the front door. And a second story. And a "crow's nest".
A short-legged starfish I found in the ocean.
An old piece of driftwood that people have decorated. As we were driving up to it on the golf cart we couldn't tell what it was. From far away we thought it was a person.
There are various shells, flip-flops and hats attached to it.
J was the designated driver and loved every min of it. And thankfully he was a good driver.
The view from the porch.
We played a crazy game called Quelf which had people doing some interesting things.
Look at our reflections in the window. Hysterical!
That paper is stuck to her forehead with gum, which started oozing and running down her face. Eww!!
Our little gated community was back off a dirt road.
So pretty!
There were 13 of us celebrating and several of them went deep sea fishing one day and caught some shark. We also had some shrimp and some snapper and we all worked together to make dinner that night.
We had so much fun all working together.
We used coconut rum in the shrimp and it was awesome.
We sort of made up the recipes as we went.
At one point my SIL and nephew were both standing in the kitchen with their phones comparing recipes and trying to figure out how to modify them with what we had.
It all turned out great!
T and I went for a sunset golfcart ride one evening.
This almost looks like a painting.
I love this pic but I don't really know why. It's slightly blurry but it has an "old-timey" look to it. Or something.
These are the eggs of some sort of sea creature. I was probably told which one but I don't remember.
View from a little bridge on a golf cart path.
Everyone except my parents, T, J and I left on Sat morning. After they left we did a bunch of cleaning and packing and then after lunch we went out to "the point" one last time before we left. By then the tropical storm was coming in and the sky looked awesome!
To the other direction the sky was pretty clear.
J and I on the back of the golf cart. It was getting quite windy by then.
Mom and Dad took home a bunch of shells. The whole back of their van was full.
There were a few toys at the beach house which J set up as a very interesting pirate scene of some sort which included the Hamburglar in a get away boat. Too funny!
The animals were glad to see us. This is a box full of Diesel.
T got a new boat seat. He's trying it out...in the kitchen.
The beach was beautiful but the skies at home are pretty too.
Th-th-th-that's all, folks!
